When I set out to design the Komodo I wanted to design a knife for myself with all the things I love. I knew it had to be an axis lock as it is my favorite. The handle had to be ergonomic but profide a very secure grip for pushing and puling. Thus the grip has an hour glass type of profile as my hands are often wet from fishing, hunting or jist sweat from general work. I bieleved this would solve the issue. The blade I love the most is a sheepfoot blade but I wanted to add some slight belly as I personally love a rolling cut type action for stubborn materials.
I went with normal thumbstuds on the design as I believe it is still the most versatile opening method.
